Additionally, we know try to negotiate wide connections with any device set
to negotiate wide connections in the SCSI BIOS settings, but we handle
results differently than the BIOS does. As a side effect, some drives you
have to manually set the BIOS to no wide negotiation to make the drives work
with the latest driver (it was a trade-off between making this item of
negotiation work or possibly thinking that a not-ready drive was refusing
wide negotation in error).
