Ummm....
What would the definition of "regularity" be? How is linux able to
keep track of this regularity?
(to partly answer my own question, it must be something reasonablky
simple and effective so that it doesn't need to much space and time
overhead).

PS: Some people have mailed me saying that I should stop using
