Wierd...I even got the same hard drive detection problem with a kernel
as early as 2.0.12! I didn't used to get this phenomenon with kernels
earlier than 2.0.27. I checked my drive with Western Digital's
diagnostic tools, and there was nothing wrong with it.

Very wierd indeed...
