Hmm, sorry if this is a totally wrong answer. The only time I have
seen that message was when one of my friends had powercycled his
Linux box while playing quakeworld. Inserting his berserk drive in
my Linux box, running fsck on it and fixing the /dev entries (tty's)
by running ./MAKEDEV in /dev fixed the problem that time.
