For better or worse both of those pieces of hardware are widely used.
IMO, not supporting them as well as we possibly can in this release would
be a major mistake.
On the bright side, a 'make -j zImage' ran to completion on my 16mb system
last night in about 13 hours, which is about an hour's improvement over
pre-7. I'm psyched! I was even able to open a ssh connection while the job
was running with the load average at 33 and check on its progress!
