pcmcia services

I know it's hard enough to try to get Linux running on all
the various intel desktop configurations, but then there are
those like me who want to make it run on laptops too!

Problem: Hitachi VisionBook Plus (P133 laptop),
during the initial installation the following occurs.

Linux PCMCIA Card Services 2.9.2
Intel PCIC probe:
Cirrus PD6832 CardBus at 0x3e0, 2 sockets
irq mask (_

And it dies (locks up)right where the underscore (cursor)
blinks at me forever.

Is there a workaround? I know my CardBus uses IRQ 9. Can
I enter an argument at boot to circumvent this probe? Or is
there newer code that will live with my Hitachi?
