More modular IDE support?

Hi *,

I was wandering if it would be possible to further modularize the
IDE support so that the user can compile in just the generic IDE
driver to boot from an IDE drive and then insert a module for the
advanced IDE chipset support (Triton, CMD640 etc.). That would be
very nice for people who don't like {want, have skills} to recompile
the kernel, as well as for distribution maintainers.
