Disaster with 2.0.31-pre10

I was playing Quake in console, when the system froze up.
I found the following in the logs, after a reset :

What could it be ? I tried a make -j of the kernel more than once and the machine survived without errors. A ppp link was active. btw, the device with major 3 and minor 42 is /dev/ttyra !! and 16,01 is non-existant...

I am using IDE drives (IBM-DJAA-31270,WDC AC2850F,WDC AC31000H) With a Triton-II chipset. SOund card is a sb32-pnp configured with isapnptools.

I don't remember having such problems with kernel 2.0.27.
