sys_setgroups on other processes?

I frequently find myself changing a user's group configuration,
but have found it's not always a good idea to end the users's
outstanding sessions right then and there to make the change
complete.

It seems like it ought to be a simple thing to add an optional pid field
to sys_setgroups. Only problem is, I don't really understand the ins and
outs of sys linkage. Can someone hold my hand a bit here, and point
me at a good example? How much do I need to worry about libc?
