Well, "at least" covers 40-60Mb :-)

What is the machine's uptime, and how many packets has the thing processed
as reported by /proc/net/dev?

I don't think we're suffering from the leak here; we have a week of uptime
on 2.0.31-pre10 and appear to have all our memory intact despite a pretty
heavy udp network load on our eth0 (3c590).

Maybe PPP has been broken? Who else sees the leak and what network
functionality do they use? And how heavily...?
