Currently the only module which uses this is the MDA display driver, which isn't even with the kernel. I'm working on a printer patch, too, which will allow oopses etc. to be sent to a parallel printer synchronously. No more tedious copying down messages by hand :)

I have rewritten most of the console handling for 2.1.x especially for
multiple auxilary console. A printer console is very easy to add, even
with modules etc. It's all configurable from the boot command line.

It even falls back to using /dev/ttyS0 as system console if a VGA card
cannot be detected in the system, etc.

Geert Uytterhoeven <Geert.Uytterhoeven@cs.kuleuven.ac.be> has integrated
the patches into Linux/PPC and Linux/m68k. I hope he can convice David
and/or Linus to integrate this stuff into the standard kernel. I've
been maintaining this stuff for years now :)
