IDE zip drive foind as CDROM

I has been reported that 2.0.31 finds

hdc: IOMEGA ZIP 100 ATAPI, ATAPI FLOPPY drive

for an IDE zip drive.

But the 2.1.61 kernel yields

hdc: IOMEGA ZIP 100 ATAPI, ATAPI cdrom or floppy?, assuming
CDROM drive

and will now allow fdisk etc. to be run.

Any ideas welcome.
