A good starting point might be porting GCC to the TI-TMS320C6 DSP.. GCC
has been ported to the C3/C4 already, so thats proof that there are people
who arn't willing to buy ti's overpriced compiler..

The C6 is vliw and in production (you can even buy pci prototype boards)..
