It was sent to a mailinglist at VGER.rutgers.edu (to all
of them ? most of them anyway), and VGER's system mailer
anti-relay rules do not apply in that case.

What we need is real-time censor software on email traffic,
and that at least sounds bad...

Neither the requirement of "post only by members" works that
well. It would block all non-members from sending questions.

Remote alternative would be to have all non-member traffic sent
to the moderator, and members could be allowed to post freely.
Can such setup be made with Majordomo ? I have no idea.
(And especially, who would become so reliable and fast turn-
around moderators that it would be practical ?)
