smbfs and 2.1.xx

What is the current status with smbfs and the linux kernel? There is no
longer an smbmount, and mount itself will not directly support smbfs.. How
do I mount then? :)

I think from memory there is a hack for smbclient which enables you to
mount, but I could not get this to work. Can someone tell me what I'm doing
wrong? Or point me in the right direction to get this to work with say the
latest kernel 2.1.66?

Am I the only one with these troubles? :)

Thanks in advance..

Dave.
