Dip Upgrade: where and which?

Hi,

In Documentation/Changes is said to patch pppd ( i do and it is
running),
but it is no said to upgrage dip, that want not to run: it say to use
setserial
and die.
There are patch for dip (or a new release that run with 2.1.72) ?
