K6 cpu family

Just out of curiosity, I was looking in arch/i386/kernel/setup.c and
it appears that the AMD K6 is set as a family 5 cpu along with the K5.
I could be wrong, but isn't the K6 a 6th generation cpu, or does the
chip itself actually report itself being a 5th generation cpu?
