The changes in the sound driver from 2.1.75 on seem to slow down the
processing of MIDI events. The MIDI driver of kmid is affected; the
driver of xplaymidi isn't (strange). The effect is that concurrent notes
aren't played concurrently, and thus stack up. With older kernels, both
drivers have the same results (as far as I can hear it).
