sb sound in 2.1.78 not releasing DMA mem.

This problem has existed since the first attempts to modularize sound
(.68?)
modprobe sb
vplay foo.wav
free total shows decrease by DMA size
modprobe -r sb
free total does not increase.
repeat the process and total keeps going down.
I can repost all of the details if anybody wants them.
2.0.33 with ossfree3.8 works great.
