Well, it is not smbfs-1.9.18 which stays at version 2.0.2; it is Samba
1.9.18 (now at patch level 1).

I think smbfs will dissapear when Linux 2.2 is released because the
old smbfs userland utilities only work with old kernels and the
utilities to use smbfs with 2.1.x kernels have been merged with Samba.
