I have a Buslogic BT-496C (I think) scsi controller in a machine with two
3Com 3c597 Vortex cards.
One of the network cards (eth0) also quits working periodically. No
crashes, just tons of transmit errors in the logs. Bringing the device
down, back up, and re-adding the routes fixes it.
I have an identical card on eth1, but it hasn't messed up (yet).
I did not have the problem until 2.0.33, but never thought to associate it
with the Buslogic until I saw your message.
I did grab version 0.47 of the 3com driver, but the problem remained.
