I was compiling gcc2.8.0 with the egcs g77 latest snapshot.
I was in the first stage compiling with LANGUAGES=c
This bombed out with ./gcc.c g77.c Permission Denied (not kidding, eh)
Didn't know why it was trying to compile g77, but I did
ln -s ./gcc.c g77.c and started the make again.
Seemed to pick up fine, so I switched to my X VT and fired up ppp with
X-ISP to get my mail. Did that fine. Then I logged off with disconnect,
and everything froze.
BIG RED BUTTON time.
The last thing in my logs were Bill's three 'not empty' messages that
appear everytime I disconnect.
