2.1.80 strange tty behaviour?

I encountered a strange problem with X (Xaccel 4.1) when
booting into 2.1.80: The mouse (PS2) and the keyboard stop
working (the X server is ok). I logged in and killed the
session from another system.

Now the keyboard is usable again, *except* in the tty formerly
associated with X. So it looks the tty is not properly reset ?

No problems with 2.0.33. This is an SMP box.
