Well, I count 354 filenames over 14 characters in /usr/src/linux after my
compile of 2.1.81, so I think the 'long filename' issue is a moot point.
The longest is linux/drivers/char/.consolemap_deftbl.o.flags, at 26
characters. Even without counting .*.flags files, we have 147 long files,
the longest being linux/include/linux/ftape-header-segment.h at 22...
