SMP kernel on a UP machine?

Today I compiled 2.1.81 (with no problem) but I forgot to comment
SMP=1 in the Makefile. So now I'm running a SMP kernel on a normal UP
machine. In the startup messages I only can see a "dummy APIC
emulation" message. So far I had no problems (I've been running X for,
say, half an hour). Should I expect some damage from running an SMP
kernel? I'm particularly concerned about possible filesystem
corruptions.

Thanks, Pf
