updating 2.0.x modules

I have written a device driver for the DoubleTalk speech synthesizer,
which I would like to see added to the kernel source code.

Currently I have a 2.0.x module. (The source package is available at
http://www.mv.com/ipusers/vanzandt, if you are interested.) I see the
2.1.x kernel has a significantly different interface. Is there any
documentation on updating drivers? I have tried to RTFM (FAQ,
Documentation/*, ftp.cs.helsinki.fi/pub/Software/Linux/Kernel/*,
etc.), but have not found anything relevant. I would appreciate any
pointers.
