Correct, with one clarification: Probing for ISA cards on a running system
is risky. Probing for PCI cards is relatively safe, and the 2.0.33 module
will do this. Regardless, nothing with respect to the ne2000 probe has
changed lately (2.1.x), so I suspect the problem for this user lies elsewhere.
