I've also observed this problem (and some similar - like corrupted binaries)
with 2.1.x kernels on two different machines. They both work with no problem
with 2.0.3x. Moreover I've never got SIG11 during eg. compilation (even with
2.1). I observe the problems only after higher then normal machine load
(eg. compilation + using an X application).
So I think somethink is bad in disk cache or swapping code.
