knfsd and glibc2

I recently tried to compile 0.4.22, on my RedHat 5 box without success.
This is probably because I have glibc2. I had a brief look through the
code to try and fix it, but didn't really get anywhere so I thought I'd
ask what is going on?

How do I get knfsd to work? :)
