I am getting the messages below when I try:
find . -exec cat {} >/dev/null \;
on a new CD-ROM drive, 24x, IDE-ATAPI. After a short break (4 seconds or
so) the CD will start spinning and everything goes fine. Messages are
rather annoying.. Kernel is 2.1.86 on a Pentium/120 Mhz with 32 M of RAM.

Should I go back to the shop and ask for a replacement?
