Unusual problem

Guys,

I have an unusual problem that I have been unable to trace down. Here's
the
scenario. I have a machine running 2.0.33 with three SCSI drives and a
Adaptec
2940U controller. Lets call this machine paul. I mount this machine
from another also running 2.0.33 using nfs and this machine is called
moe. When I list a certain directory, the mount directory on moe all of
a sudden takes on the ownership attributes from this
directory and I can no longer access any other files on the mounted file
system.
Umounting and remounting clears up the problem as long as I don't list
this one
directory. I have renamed, deleted, recreated, everything I can think
of and
it still screws up when I list directory. Also note that this happens
randomly and
not always on directories. The mount directory sometimes takes on the
attributes
of a file. Has anyone else had this problem and how have you solved it?
