I'm sporadically getting these messages, too. I never noticed any problems
resulting of this:

Feb 18 12:50:34 Galois kernel: Warning: dev (03:19) tty->count(1) != #fd's(2) in do_tty_hangup

The affected machine has no PPP or SLIP logins, but many users are login
in on this machine. Every kernel since a long time seems to have this
problem.
