Sound buffer problem in 2.0.3[23]

hi!

whenever i try recording using an application (record, xwav) i get
"invalid auido buffer size"...

recording using "cat /dev/audio >my.test.sound" works ok...

the problem persists when using 2.0.78 and 2.0.86

it is - imo - not a permission problem.

the audio buffer size for my sb16 is 16K, but even with 32K or 64K the
problem occurs. the sound driver is linked into the kernel, not inserted
as a module.
