Kernel 2.1.8x doesn't boot

Hello all,

I have ASUS SP97-V motherboard (SiS 5598 chipset) and AMD K6 processor on it
and 2.1.8x kernels hang to "Ok, now booting kernel..."
Same kernel image worked fine with my previous MB (ASUS P/I-P55TP4N, i430FX w/
iPentium). I have also tested many different kernel configurations. 2.0.33
kernel works fine! (System is RH5)

Any ideas?
