What patches are those? I've not seen any; I'm running 2.0.33 compiled
with egcs-1.0.1 and am having no effects (except more speed :-))

Actually, it's too late for it to be in 2.1;
1) quasi-code-freeze (closer to a slush, actually) So no new API's can
be added to the official kernel; GGI changes one helluva of a lot.
2) I follow the GGI mailing list. As I understand it, their assessment
is that GGI is too immature to be in the main distribution.
3) Last I checked, a large number of people (won't mention names) feel
that this would boat the kernel too much and feel that non-kernel
solutions work adeqately.
