Re: wd7000

I've been using a WD7000 in one of my computers for some time. It works
at least reasonably with the 2.0 kernels (I use 2.0.33). Some day I'd
like to see things fixed for the 2.1 series, but I haven't been bold
enough as yet to do anything too serious about it.

The problem seems to be that when the scsi driver was updated some time
fairly early in the 2.1 line, something didn't get updated right in the
wd7000 driver. It looks like some pointer, probably passed out of the
driver to the divice indepenent layer of scsi, is getting shortened, or
its least significant half being zeroed.

I don't know if what I have said is accurate, let alone lucid, but I hope
someone can make some use of it.
