No fair. I'm running XFree86 3.3.1b, and it's rock solid on the Millennium II,
where the basic 3.3.1 was fairly flaky. They might not acknowledge the
mountains of mail they get very efficiently but they're definitely
addressing the known problems.
I'm sorry if people on the kernel list thought that I was criticizing
the people at XFree86. I was not: they do a great job and their
contributions are invaluable. But I never received any sort of e-mail
response from them. That was all I meant.
And I didn't know that there was a 3.3.1b version out. I will try it.
