2.1.89 broken?

I would like to ask: Is 2.1.89 actually working for you? Mine will
silently hang with init=/sbin/init. It will start bash with
init=/sbin/bash, but attempt to exec /sbin/init, or atempt to fsck
disks will give nice oops.
