Please take a look at
ftp://ftp.dialnet.net/pub/linux/aic7xxx/aic7xxx-5.0.7.tar.gz. This files
were a big help for me, because everything runs pretty well with SMP Kernel
2.1.88 and a 2940U. I hope the aic7xxx-5.0.7.tar.gz would go into the
standard kernel, as it runs better then the original driver from plain
2.1.88. It seems that the driver also works well together with 2.0.33.
