Hi all,

I am new to linux-kernel as well as this mailing list.

I am not sure if such questions should be asked or not.

while reading /i386/bootsect.s I did not understand the

following instruction.


jmpi go,INITSEG
go: mov di,#0x4000-12 ! 0x4000 is arbitrary value >= length of

Infact I did'nt understand the jmpi instruction and also why
0x4000 was chosen.
