More than that. I've sworn by emacs for over 15 years. I've only
ever learned enough vi to :q it.

Yeah, it does a lot of things that might be part of something else. But
when I started using it I was on a dumb terminal and windows and mouses
were something something Xerox did. It's still the best tool for
remote maintanance work.

This is not to disagree with the intent of Linus' point, only that
there are exceptions to it that are so useful that you forgive them
their transgressions.
