I've been trying to install 2.1.92 on an AlphaXL system. I've built the
kernel with "make vmlinux", compressed it with gzip, and copied it to the
floppy disk over the top of the 2.0.30 image that works. When I boot the
machine MILO loads, uncompresses the vmlinux.gz file, loads the kernel, and
then the system stops with the floppy light still on.

What might I be doing wrong? Do I need to install a 2.1.x MILO in place of
the old version of MILO that works for 2.0.30?

Also when I ran "make menuconfig" I selected "AlphaXL" and "ARC", but the
.config file was generated for AlphaAVANTI and SRM. I ran "make menuconfig"
several times and tried to set it straight, I eventually had to manually edit
the .config.
