More on boot-time crashes on Compaq 6000 in 2.1.92 and 2.1.92pre2

I have now tried an extremely minimal 2.1.92 kernel, without even IDE or
floppy drivers, and it still fails with the same message (copied by hand):

[at this point the machine ignores CtrlAltDelete, but obeys
Shift-PageUp/PageDown. As Compaq has not invented a reset button the
machine must be powered down.]

In the minimal real 2.1.92 kernel I turned off sound, RAMdisk, loop, IDE,
sound, enhance real-time clock, etc. In 2.1.92pre2 I turned off SMP and
turned on only "Experimental Drivers", AIC7xxx, and TLAN. As I mentioned
before 2.1.92pre1 is OK!

Bootup messages for 2.1.92pre2 are very similar except that the first bad
virtual address is c0007000 instead of c000f000.
