I downloaded kernel version 2.1.93, and after installation and =
rebooting, I get this message when I run rc.modules:
=20
bobhitt:/etc/rc.d# rc.modules
Updating module dependencies for Linux 2.1.93:
*** Unresolved symbols in module /lib/modules/2.1.93/net/bsd_comp.o
*** Unresolved symbols in module /lib/modules/2.1.93/net/dummy.o
*** Unresolved symbols in module /lib/modules/2.1.93/net/ppp_deflate.o
kernel_version needed, but can't be found
I've done "make modules ; make modules_install". I've run 2.0.33, =
2.1.89, 2.1.90 and 2.1.91 previously without this message. I looked in =
the Documentation directory for clues, but nada.=20
Another irratation that I've experienced on all of these 2.1.x kernels, =
but NOT with 2.0.33 is if I reboot, the kernel hangs on reboot right =
after it prints info on the serial ports. Requires a power cycle to =
recover.=20
Lastly starting with 2.1.91 screen updates are really slow, like video =
and system BIOS shadowing was turned off, but wasn't.
