Hmmm, last I heard POSIX.1e was not going to become a standard due to
various difficulties.

If this is indeed true, we will be more free to implement things as we
wish without being restricted by any standard.

The "bounding set" is highly desirable, as I have pointed out in another
e-mail which may or may not already be in your inbox.
