My system is only IDE. I had no problem at all compiling and running it.
Even a SMP kernel worked fine (even if I used it on a UP)..

So far I have uptime:
4:46pm up 4:57, 4 users, load average: 0.07, 0.02, 0.00

Here is what my dmesg says:

-----------
PIIX3: IDE controller on PCI bus 00 dev 39
PIIX3: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
ide0: BM-DMA at 0xf000-0xf007, BIOS settings: hda:pio, hdb:pio
ide1: BM-DMA at 0xf008-0xf00f, BIOS settings: hdc:pio, hdd:pio
hda: QUANTUM BIGFOOT_CY2160A, ATA DISK drive
ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14
hda: QUANTUM BIGFOOT_CY2160A, 2014MB w/67kB Cache, CHS=1023/64/63, DMA
-----------

No Oops or anything like this so far..

It worked also very well on 2.1.97.

Best Regards,

Sebastian
