Hello,

I have troubles with rpc :

I have a PC, with 1 PPro200 RedHat 5.0, kernel 2.1.97

(and some patches for kmod, lp, pci, system)

Intel BB440FX motherBoard , 64Mb RAM

I have upgrage :

libc-5.3..12-25

ypbind-3..3-2

glibc-2.0.7-6

...

ld.so-1.9.5-5

autofs-0.3.14-2

...

and

portmap-4.0-8

texinfo-3.12-1

as indicated in rh50-errara-general.html

1) when I make a "ps ax" there isn't :

portmap

rpc.mountd

rpc.nfsd

rpc.rusersd

rpc.walld

ypbind

2) Here is the errors I get in /var/log/messages:

<smaller>Apr 25 12:40:54 infolin mountd[237]: unable to register (mountd, 1, udp).

Apr 25 12:40:54 infolin nfsd[245]: setsockopt failed: Invalid argument

Apr 25 12:40:54 infolin nfsd[245]: unable to register (nfsd, 2, udp).

Apr 25 12:40:55 infolin rpc.rusersd[256]: unable to register (RUSERSPROG, RUSERSVERS_3, udp).

Apr 25 12:40:55 infolin automount[293]: using kernel protocol version 3

</smaller>3) And when I try to mount a remote directory , i have :

portmap : RPC call returnd error 111

RPC: task of released request still queud

RPC: (task is on xprt_pending)

But the directory is well mounted

4) When I make "/etc/rc.d/init.d/ypbinf/status"

"ypbind stopped" or "ypbind dead but pid file exist"

But ypcat passwd works .

5) I have done the same intall on another PC

1 PII 200

Intel MB440LX motherBoard , 256Mb RAM

And It works

HELP please
