For what it's worth, there could be a variety of ways of retrieving
a patch, given a url. In this case, you can do it with:
lynx -dump http://athena.res.cmu.edu/kmod/kmod.patch.2198 | patch -p0
[Er.. probably want to get it into a file and look at it before applying
it.]
