Linux could support 3.9Gb (or something like). You could not have more then
4Gb physical RAM with IA32. Merced will solve this problem :-)
P.S. And there are 64Tb (not 64Gb) limit of "virtual" RAM (with usage of
segments and Linux does not use segments much), but still only 4Gb
physical RAM+ROM+...
