Would some capabilities expert please take pity on us lesser beings and
point to some good books/articles/pages which explain the differences
among these various approaches.

Near as I can tell, "Posix capabilities" are like ACLs with indirect
object names, and "pure capabilities" are just like the original VMS
privilege mask. Surely that can't be right. :-) If someone will direct
me, I promise to post no more on this topic until I think I really
understand what is being debated. Thanks!
